If you're looking to restore your Classic wooden boat using the correct Reed & Prince - Frearson Screws or simply removing old screws and hardware from your boat, you'll need a Frearson bit.
Using a Philips will strip & damage existing Frearson screws if you're trying to remove anything from hardware to planks. Chris-Craft and all the major boat manufacturers used Frearson as they were designed to hold onto the screwdriver really well as the Philips will "Cam out" and the screw will slip off the driver bit by design.
